Lobelia spicata is a long-flowering diminutive species that favors open, dryish sites. Found in dry meadows and open disturbed areas. Frequent associates are Juncus tenuis (path rush) and Sabatia angularis (rose pink), so this gives an idea of the conditions that it enjoys. Seeds are nearly microscopic and difficult to sow as they must sit on the surface of the soil to germinate.
Coexists happily with other small plantings of Carex, Liatris, Schizachyrium, and Sabatia.
Available in summer 2015. Sold individually or in flats of 50.
